In the feature “Silmo 2023 : Tout ce qu’on a vu”, the journal publishes a photo of the Ouvrage model and a photo of (from left to right) Matthieu LAFONT, Satoshi SEKIMOTO, Thomas LAFONT, and Nicolas FAFIOTTE during the presentation of the Silmo d’Or “Special Jury Prize.”

With the article “Lafont Sees Double,” Vision’ère showcases both partnerships of Lafont for their centenary, including the collaboration Lafont x Maison Sekimoto.

Translation of the articles:

Collab!

Of Japanese origin, Satoshi Sekimoto, Best Craftsman of France in haute-couture embroidery, and Thomas Lafont, artistic director of the eponymous eyewear brand, have together created a frame… embroidered. Based on a concept envisioned by the Parisian eyewear designer, Satoshi Sekimoto worked on this unique medium by embroidering, like on a dress, pearls and sequins. Named “Ouvrage,” this model is handmade and available in two colors.

Lafont sees double

For its centenary, Lafont has treated itself to two collaborations with exceptional partners: the first with Satoshi Sekimoto, Best Craftsman of France in haute-couture embroidery, and the second with Maison Pierre Frey, a renowned editor of high-end fabrics and upholstery. Satoshi Sekimoto and Thomas Lafont together created an embroidered frame, like a dress, with pearls and sequins. The collaboration with the Pierre Frey brand resulted in six unique sunglasses, “imbued with a Parisian haute couture spirit.”
