Description
“Ondes croisées (Crossed Waves)” belongs to the Pur range, dedicated to graphic structures and architectural compositions. In this unique work, Satoshi Sekimoto, MOF in Haute Couture Embroidery, unfolds an interlaced wave pattern, both Mediterranean and Japanese.
Each embroidered arc, made of silk threads, beads, and sequins, recalls the rolling of the sea and the traditional Japanese Seigaiha (青海波) motif, creating a rhythm where East meets West.
The layering of deep blues, turquoise, and silver produces a visual vibration oscillating between natural fluidity and architectural rigor. This piece condenses the perpetual movement of the sea into a graphic weave, like an aquatic score.
Composition: Lunéville hook and needle embroidery, glass beads, sequins, silk and cotton threads, on canvas.
