Description
“Pris au piège (Caught in the Trap)” is part of the Microcosmos collection, which sheds light on the tensions of life. This work is unique in its support: a transparent plexiglas plate, suspending the embroidered insect in space, creating an impression of levitation and actual captivity.
The transparency of the plexiglas allows light to pass through, projecting shifting shadows that intensify the sense of entrapment and fragility. The insect, caught in this device, becomes a metaphor for inescapable fate and the vulnerability of existence.
Created by Satoshi Sekimoto, MOF in Haute Couture Embroidery and Master Artisan of Art, the piece unites Lunéville hook and needle embroidery, executed in suspension. A contemporary, conceptual artwork elevated through Maison Sekimoto’s exceptional craftsmanship.
Composition: Lunéville hook and needle embroidery, glass beads, sequins, silk and cotton threads, on canvas.
