The Parisian eyewear designer, celebrating its centenary this year, has made a noteworthy collaboration with the young Maison Sekimoto, renowned for its expertise in haute couture embroidery.
They have combined their passions and respective expertise. Of Japanese origin, Satoshi Sekimoto, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) in haute couture embroidery, and Thomas Lafont, the artistic director of the eponymous eyewear brand, have together crafted an embroidered frame. “Having worked with the top haute couture houses, Satoshi Sekimoto brings delicacy and lightness to the frame through his virtuosity and attention to detail,” rejoices the eyewear designer, who unveils this model as a sneak peek. Based on a concept envisioned by Thomas Lafont, Satoshi Sekimoto, who earned the title of Master Artisan in Artistry this year, worked on this unique canvas by embroidering pearls and sequins onto it, much like a gown. Named “Ouvrage,” this model is handmade and available in two colors.
