“Hanabi” — literally fireworks in Japanese — belongs to the Stellar collection, which explores celestial and luminous imagery. This unique piece translates into Haute Couture embroidery the fleeting brilliance of a bursting light.
Created by Satoshi Sekimoto, MOF in Haute Couture Embroidery and Master Artisan of Art, the work combines Lunéville hook embroidery with needlework. Silk threads, sequins, and glass beads form a radiant explosion, capturing and reflecting light like suspended fireworks.
This piece directly inspired the creation of Lafont × Maison Sekimoto “Rio Hanabi” eyewear, the second partnership between the eyewear house and Maison Sekimoto, while remaining an independent work entirely crafted by the artist.
