Description
“L’Attrape-Soleil (The Sun-Catcher)” belongs to the Microcosmos collection, exploring the world of insects and their invisible architectures. This large-scale piece (54 × 73 cm) transposes the spider’s web into a cosmic vision, where embroidered threads become light and structure.
Each segment of the web, crafted with Lunéville hook and needle embroidery, is enhanced with beads, sequins, and precious threads. The center resonates as a core of energy, while the densely embroidered solar circle evokes a captured eclipse.
Created by Satoshi Sekimoto, MOF in Haute Couture Embroidery and Master Artisan of Art, this work embodies the union of technical virtuosity and poetic imagination. A piece of rare intensity, where fragility becomes monumental.
Composition: Lunéville hook and needle embroidery, glass beads, sequins, silk and cotton threads, on canvas.
