Over the course of 4 days, these professionals offer you the opportunity to enhance your skills in creating fully customized eyeglasses. Each session lasts 30 minutes.
There are 6 workshops available for registration:
- Designing a custom frame: from measurement to design;
- Creating a computer-assisted frame design;
- Handcrafting miniature acetate pieces;
- Working with acetate: machining, assembly, and bonding;
- Welding a metal frame with a microtorch;
- Shaping horn with a flame;
- Decorating and embellishing acetate material;
- Optimal maintenance of a polishing machine.
Two new features for the 2022 edition: Visitors will be invited to a moment of sharing and discussion about their creative projects. They can also receive advice on their educational or training paths.
A demonstration workshop on embedding embroidery in acetate will be offered to visitors in partnership with Satoshi Sekimoto, awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in Haute Couture Embroidery in 2015.
Furthermore, to celebrate the school’s 10th anniversary, 25 trainees have each created a frame that will be submitted to visitors’ votes to win the Eyewear Craftsmanship Award. The top 3 former trainees who receive the most votes will benefit from additional advanced training.
These eyewear craftsmen from around the world will be present at the booth to share their experiences with visitors.
The MOF will be in the Silmo Next area, reminding the entire industry that eyewear craftsmanship is a path to the future.
